Jesse Owen OHSAA State Track and Field Championship | 6/11/2026

A four day weekend filled with fast, fun, hot and intense competition at the Jesse Owens OHSAA State Track and Field Championships. There were over 14 State records broken, Boys and Girls team champion from the same division and school, 3 area school winning state team championships with one winning back to back, 100s of high schools represented, 1,000 plus participants it was an amazing weekend. Then Dayton Christian Warriors made the podium. Yes, DC received their first podium finish since 2021.

The Warriors qualified 9 athletes plus 8 alternates into this year state competition, 4x800 relay, 1600m Boys, 4x200 relay, 2x Boys 200m. They started the journey with at the District meet in Lakota East. Then a road trip out to Chillicothe,Oh Southeastern HS, and would finish at Jesse Owens Memorial at The Ohio State University.

These athletes remained focus and continue to run for his glory all season long through the challenges of cold weather, rain, heat, delays, and traveling to train. The ladies set a new 4x800 relay record during their tournament run and finished 15th in the State Finals D5 for the year. Sam Ferriman finished 15th in State Finals D5 for the year rankings. The boys 4x200 relay finished 14th overall State Finals D5 for the year rankings. Zee Dow and Braylen Biffle both finished respectively in the 200. Braylen 15th, Zee Dow 8th with a podium finish and medal.
Congratulations to all the State Qualifiers and finishers of 2026.

This season it took the whole team to reach this level of competition. I'm very proud and blessed to have coach alongside with such a great coaching staff and great athletes. These Warriors never lost sight of the real meaning and true prize, that is honoring him and running for his glory and not our own. All of Him and None of Me!
