The Dayton Christian Boys Swim Team swam season best times in all of their races as the boys finish 28th out of 35 scoring teams at the Southwest Ohio District Swim Meet. The Warriors were led by Sophomore Grayson Littlejohn placing 15th in the 100 Breaststroke with a personal record and season best time of 1:07.17. Littlejohn, along with Sophomores Porter Clemens, Kia Millar, and Senior Heath Conely placed 16th in the 200 Medley Relay with a season best time of 1:55.45 to complete the scoring for the Warriors. The same quartet of swimmers broke the 4-minute mark for the first time this year in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:58.19. Senior Heath Conely swam a personal record, season best 55.73. Conely, Littlejohn, Millar, and Junior AJ Blatz drop over 2 seconds with a season best 1:42.12 in the 200 Free Relay. Coach Wiggershaus shared, “what a way to finish out … swimming 5 PRs/season best swims! I am so proud of these guys, we threw a lot at them this year, focusing on endurance and technique. They all bought into the plan and the plan worked! We will miss Heath, but the future looks great for these Warriors as everyone will be returning. I can’t wait for the 2026-27 season to roll around!”
The season concludes next week at the OHSAA State Swim Meet as Junior Austin Wiener will be competing in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke in the Para Events. Austin will be competing Friday evening.
Below are recaps of each District Race by the Warriors of the Water.
200 MEDLEY RELAY: The boys relay team swam a 1:56.91 at their sectional meet, which had them seeded 18th for the district meet. Porter Clemens led off with a season best backstroke leg of 31.88. Next up was Grayson Littlejohn swimming the breaststroke with a season best leg of 30.08. Heath Conely was up next, with a season best relay leg, swimming the butterfly with a 28.33. Kia Millar, also swimming a season best relay leg, anchored the relay with 25.16 freestyle. The team finished 16th, scoring points with a season best 1:55.45.
100 FREESTYLE: Heath Conely secured the final spot into the districts with a 56.28, seeding him 32nd. Conely dropped 0.55 seconds, swimming a personal record with a 55.73, finishing 31st overall.
200 FREE RELAY: Seeded 20th after their sectional swim of 1:44.13, the team of Littlejohn, Blatz, Millar, and Conely drop 2.01 seconds, to swim a season best 1:42.12! Littlejohn and Conely swim 24’s in their 50 free legs, Blatz almost broke the 27 second barrier with a 27.04, and Millar continues to be consistent with another 25, swimming a 25.56 in his 50-freestyle leg. The team finished 20th overall, holding their seed placing.
100 BREASTSTROKE: Grayson Littlejohn was seeded 24th in the breaststroke after swimming a 1:09.91 last week at the sectionals meet. The 24th position placed him in lane 8 in his heat (slowest seed time in his heat). Grayson opened the race with 30.92 50, leading the heat after the first 50. Grayson held on to the lead, finished with a personal record 1:07.17 and winning his heat. After waiting for two more heats to swim, Grayson improved 9 positions, finishing in 15th place and scoring points for the Warriors team.
400 FREE RELAY: Seeded 21st, the warrior relay entered the district meet with a then season best time 4:00.08. Riding the high of his amazing 100 Breaststroke swim, Littlejohn led off the relay with a season best relay leg of 56.54. Clemens swam the 2nd leg with a 1:03.71, followed by Millar with a 1:00.79. Concluding his Warrior swimming career, Conley anchored the team with an impressive 57.15. The team dropped 2.61 seconds, swimming a season best 3:58.19 and breaking the 4-minute mark for the first time this season.
