Dayton Christian delivered a gritty and composed road performance on Tuesday night, defeating Eaton 63–47 to improve to 12–7 overall and 7–5 in conference play. The Warriors showcased resilience, balance, and poise in a challenging environment, steadily building momentum to secure a convincing 16-point victory.
After a slow start that saw them fall behind 7–2, the Warriors quickly settled in. Sophomore Henry Meredith sparked the turnaround with steady scoring, posting 4 points in the opening quarter as Dayton Christian edged ahead 8–7. The second quarter belonged entirely to the Warriors. Meredith buried back-to-back threes, junior Rylan Slavens added another from deep, and senior Reid Collins capped the surge with a three of his own. The offensive burst powered Dayton Christian to a commanding 32–17 halftime lead.
Eaton responded with energy in the third quarter, trimming the deficit to 38–33. The Warriors, however, refused to waver. Senior Brayden Kidd steadied the group with 6 points in the period, helping maintain a 46–39 advantage entering the fourth.
Dayton Christian closed the game with toughness and execution. Senior Caden Shepherd took control late, scoring 6 straight points to put the game out of reach and finishing as the night’s leading scorer with 19 points on an efficient 7-of-13 shooting. Meredith added 17 points on a sharp 70% shooting clip, while Kidd and Slavens each contributed 10 points. Kidd also secured 10 rebounds to notch a double-double, and Collins orchestrated the offense with a game-high 8 assists. The balanced attack and timely shot-making allowed the Warriors to pull away for a well-earned road win.
Dayton Christian returns home to the Warrior Center on Friday, February 13, to host conference opponent Carlisle. JV tips at 6:00 p.m., followed by varsity at 7:30 p.m.
