Dayton Christian powered past Eaton with a convincing 62–42 home victory, improving to 8–5 (4-3) and showcasing both depth and balance across the roster. The Warriors seized control from the opening tip, building a dominant lead early and creating opportunities for every player to contribute.
The first half set the tone, as Dayton Christian stormed out to a 16–1 first-quarter advantage. Senior Caden Shepherd sparked the early surge with four points and a perfect trip to the line, while senior Reid Collins and sophomore Henry Meredith each buried a three-pointer. Collins stayed hot in the second quarter, knocking down two more threes on his way to six points in the period. Senior Brayden Kidd added back-to-back buckets as the Warriors stretched their halftime lead to a commanding 36–8.
Kidd took over after the break, attacking the rim and leading the second-half scoring effort. Eaton managed a brief seven-point run in the third quarter, but Dayton Christian never lost control, entering the final frame ahead 48–20. Kidd finished with a game-high 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Shepherd added 10 points while going 4-for-4 at the line, and Asa Crockett matched him with 10 points on an efficient 4-of-7 shooting night. Collins contributed nine points—all from beyond the arc—and senior Josh Hamlett chipped in eight while converting all of his free throws.
With the outcome well in hand, coach Hartman was able to empty the bench in the fourth quarter, giving valuable minutes to the entire roster. The win highlighted the Warriors’ unselfish play and ability to control a game from start to finish.
Dayton Christian returns to the Warrior Center on Friday night for a conference matchup against Madison at 7:30 p.m., following the JV game at 6:00 p.m.
