Dayton Christian delivered a statement win on their home court, rallying past the Lions of Meadowdale 67-57 to improve to 4-1 on the season. The Warriors showcased grit and determination, erasing early deficits before surging ahead for a decisive 10-point victory in front of an energized crowd.
The Lions struck first, racing to a 9-3 lead behind a quick 7-0 run. But Dayton Christian’s resilience was evident, fueled by Brayden Kidd’s relentless drives to the basket. Kidd poured in 17 first-half points, helping the Warriors claw back to a slim 31-30 advantage at halftime. The opening half was a tug-of-war, with neither side able to seize control.
Meadowdale’s strongest push came in the third quarter, when a 6-0 run matched their largest lead at 46-40. Dayton Christian answered with balanced scoring: Rylan Slavens buried a momentum-shifting three and added a key basket, while Henry Meredith stayed perfect from the field, finishing 4-for-4 with a clutch triple.
The fourth quarter belonged entirely to the Warriors. Caden Shephard knotted the score at 46 before Meredith’s three-pointer put Dayton Christian ahead for good. Shephard’s efficient 12-point performance (6-11 FG) kept the offense rolling, while Kidd capped his 20-point night with a thunderous poster dunk—his second of the game—that electrified the crowd. Asa Crockett added 11 points with strong interior play, and the Warriors’ defense locked down the Lions down the stretch.
With timely stops and explosive scoring, Dayton Christian closed out a thrilling contest, proving once again that their heart and depth make them a formidable force this season. The Warriors will be back on the hardwood in the Warrior Center Friday night 12/19 against SWBL foe Oakwood. JVB tips at 4:30 pm, followed by JV at 6:00 pm and Varsity at 7:15 p.m.
