The Warriors took on a deep field Saturday at The Mill in the Tilton Invitational and finished T19 at +88. It was not our best day, but it was a Division III team going against a field packed with Division I and Division II programs — and there was plenty worth taking from it.
Braden Fleming led the way with a strong 79 (41-38). He birdied the front and then closed the back nine with an eagle on the par-5 18th, carding a 38 on a 35-par nine. Jackson Taylor followed with a 96, Logan Denhardt a 97, Ethan Speers a 100. Ethan continues to show growth after last week’s best-of-year 43, and the group kept competing through a long day on a demanding layout.
Playing up against bigger schools is part of the schedule, and days like this still build the kind of experience that pays off later. The team will return to The Mill Course for the OHSAA Sectional Tournament in late September with much knowledge and experienced gained.
Next up is dual match Monday, August 31st at Springfield Elks Golf Course against Emmanuel Christian. Reset, stay together, and get ready — go Warriors!
