Dayton Christian Warriors Track program is returning to the Regional Track and Field Championship meet with a combined 14 events and 22 athletes. It was an overcast to the start of the day but the Warriors were shining by the end of the meet. The girls just missed runner up by 14 points, finished 3rd out 13 team with 100 points to Cincinnati Christian High School 113, then Champion Cedarville HS at 142.

The boys team finished 7th out 17th teams with 43 points, behind leaders Cincinnati College Prep 6th 44 , Cincinnati Christian 5th 46 , Sum. CO. Day 4th 53, Cincinnati Country Day 3rd 61, Legacy Christian 2nd 78, then Cedarville 1st at 153 points.


After already had qualified, the 4x200 boys relay team would be challenged as they would have to rerun the relay due to an error during the race. All 4x200 relay teams had to run again. The boys team would have to complete first the 4x100, then 200 finals, 4x400 relay final after those races run 20 minutes later the re-run of 4x200 relay. Although boys just missed qualifying the 4x100 by .o4 second, they would go on to qualify for both 4x200 relay and 4x400 also both boys 200m runners to set up a memorable Regional prelim and possible trip to state. Distance also qualified in 1600 and 3200m.

The girls team just kept running and running and running , throwing and throwing. There were multiple double qualifiers for the girls team and with the boys set a record breaking of events and relays qualified. The girls would finish 2nd in both Shot and Discus, 4x800 relay 2nd, 4x100 4th, 4x200 4th, 4x400 3rd, 200m 4th, 4th 100Hm, 4th 400m. The top 4 qualifiers in each event move onto regional competition. There were several top 8 performances and PRs in the District Championships. The Warriors will compete next week at the OHSAA D5 Regional #16 Chillicothe, OH Southeastern HS 430pm/6pm Thursday 28th ,top 5 will move onto State Championships from finals Thursday and Saturday.
