Dayton Christian MS Softball opened Thursday’s game at Watts Middle School with a strong first inning, pushing across three runs on RBI from Selah Vitas, Charlotte Lewis, and Bia Carrion. Centerville answered in the bottom half to tie the game 3–3.

Centerville created separation in the second inning, scoring 11 runs on a combination of walks and timely hits to take a 14–3 lead.

Dayton Christian responded in the third with one of the night’s biggest moments: Selah Vitas launched a solo home run to left field, her first of the season, cutting into the deficit. Later in the inning, Virginia Simons was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in another run.

Centerville added five more runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead.

Penelope Torroll led Dayton Christian with two hits and two stolen bases. Vitas finished with two RBI, including her home run. Lewis, Carrion, and Simons each contributed an RBI as well.

Dayton Christian MS Softball is back in action on Saturday at home against Norwood Middle School.
