Dayton Christian hit a difficult road stretch Friday night, falling 60–29 to Oakwood in a game defined by offensive struggles. The Warriors now sit at 10–6 overall and 5–4 in conference play after a night where shots simply refused to fall.

The opening quarter showed promise, with senior Asa Crockett scoring the game’s first basket and keeping Dayton Christian within reach. Crockett’s second field goal trimmed the deficit to 10–9, and junior Henry Meredith added a three-pointer as the Warriors moved the ball well and competed with strong energy. The first period closed with Dayton Christian trailing just 15–10.

From there, the shooting drought took hold. The Warriors managed only three points in the second quarter and three more in the third, allowing Oakwood to build a commanding 42–16 advantage. Dayton Christian found more rhythm in the fourth, but the gap was too large to overcome.

Crockett led the Warriors with 11 points on 5-of-13 shooting, while senior Caden Shepherd added 7 points on a night when every basket was hard-earned. Despite the offensive challenges, Dayton Christian protected the ball well, committing only six turnovers. However, the volume of missed shots ultimately proved too much to overcome.

The Warriors will look to regroup quickly as they return home for another conference matchup against Valley View on Tuesday, January 27, at the Warrior Center. JVB tips at 4:30 p.m., followed by JV at 6:00 p.m., and Varsity at 7:15 p.m.
