The Warriors fell to Valley View 79-59 in a competitive away game, bringing their record to 5-2 and 2-1 in conference play. Turnovers, missed layups, and second-chance points proved costly, allowing Valley View to create separation after Dayton Christian's strong start.

The game started as an exciting back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading leads early. Dayton Christian came out firing from beyond the arc, as senior Asa Crockett knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game 3-3, followed by junior Rylan Slavens connecting from deep to give the Warriors their first lead at 6-3. The momentum continued with senior Caden Shephard drilling a three-pointer to put Dayton Christian ahead 11-8. However, Valley View responded with scoring runs of 7 and 8 points that helped them build separation in the second quarter.

Senior Reid Collins emerged as the Warriors' offensive leader, showcasing his versatility by finishing with 17 points on efficient 6-of-11 shooting, including 2-of-5 from three-point range and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. His 10-point second quarter kept Dayton Christian within reach during Valley View’s surge. Slavens and Shephard each added 12 points, while Crockett finished with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

As the game progressed, Valley View capitalized on turnovers, missed layups, and second-chance opportunities to widen the gap, handing Dayton Christian their second defeat of the season and first SWBL conference loss. Dayton Christian will look to regroup and make adjustments as they prepare for their next matchup against Edgewood on Monday 12/29 at 7:30 PM as they participate in the Holiday Tournament hosted at Preble Shawnee.
