Dayton Christian delivered a thrilling 52-48 road win over Middletown Madison, improving to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in SWBL Buckeye conference play. The Warriors showed remarkable resilience in a back-and-forth battle that featured multiple lead changes and came down to the final possessions.

The game opened with momentum swings, as Dayton Christian quickly answered Madison’s opening three-pointer with balanced scoring. Senior Asa Crockett got the Warriors started, while Junior Rylan Slavens and Sophomore Henry Meredith connected from deep to build an early edge. Senior Brayden Kidd dominated the paint in the first half, powering Dayton Christian to a 29-22 halftime lead. But Madison stormed back with a 12-0 run to start the third quarter, seizing a 34-29 advantage—the Warriors’ largest deficit of the night.

Dayton Christian’s championship character emerged in crunch time. Crockett was steady at the line, hitting 7 of 8 free throws and finishing with 13 points. Reid Collins matched him with 13, delivering clutch back-to-back threes before Kidd electrified the crowd with a steal and thunderous dunk to reclaim the lead. Kidd also tallied 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting, adding key rebounds and defensive stops.

The closing minutes showcased the drama of high school basketball. With the score knotted at 48-48, Collins calmly sank two free throws, and Senior Caden Shepherd grabbed a pivotal offensive rebound, feeding Crockett for the game’s final basket. The Warriors’ composure under pressure sealed the hard-fought victory, underscoring their depth, determination, and ability to thrive in big moments as they continue their season.

The Warriors now turn their focus to the long-awaited home opener on Tuesday, December 16, when they host Meadowdale at the Warrior Center (JV at 6:00pm, Varsity at 7:15pm). Fans, students, and the entire Dayton Christian community are encouraged to pack the gym, bring the energy, and create a true home-court advantage as the team looks to build on its momentum.
