Saturday night, the Dayton Christian Warrior Swim Team traveled to Beavercreek to take part in the Bellbrook Sprint Meet. Coach Wiggershaus shared, “When signing up for this meet, I thought it would be a low key, nice introductory meet to ease our new swimmers into competitive swimming. Once I saw the likes of Beavercreek, Lebanon, and Eaton participating at the meet, it was more like throwing the kids into the deep end of the pool for the first time!” Wiggershaus continued, “These Warriors did not back down from the challenge before them, and swam some incredible races. Our training focused more on endurance and the results speak for themselves.” Leading the way for the boys were Sophomore Grayson Littlejohn placing 4th in the 50 Backstroke and 5th in the 50 Breaststroke, while Senior Heath Conely placed 6th in both the 50 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly. Leading the way for the girls were Sophomores Adalyn Holbrook placing 4th in the 50 Butterfly and 6th in the 100 IM, while Evelyn Garrett placed 3rd in the 50 Freestyle. Wiggershaus concluded, I normally do not highlight PRs from the first meet, but our returning swimmers set 30 Personal Records tonight!
The Warriors of the Water will take to the blocks again on Friday December 5th in the Fairmont Invite at the Kettering Rec Center, and Saturday December 6th in the Eaton Sprint Meet at the Preble County YMCA.
