The girls and boys Dayton Christian Cross Country teams are heading to the regional OHSAA meet. For the first time since the 90’s, Dayton Christian Cross Country Girls won the Southwest District Championship. Six of the 7 girls ran their fastest high school races. 3 of the top 4 places were led by Seniors Amber Prentice (7th Place), Riley Domigan (9th), and Charlotte Lethander (13th). Freshman Grace Eckert placed 8th in the district and 2nd on the team. First year runner, Junior Emily LaCasse placed 15th with a more than 30 second PR (personal record). Sophomores Ellie Ross (16th) and Lydia Dawson (20th) finished strong being a part of bringing home a District Championship.
The Boys XC team placed 4th and qualified for the regional OHSAA race. Every DC runner ran for their personal records (PR’s). Senior Jonas Clemens placed 9th with a 17:42 leading the DC boys team. Juniors Josiah Smith (23rd), Aidan Mullen (26th), and Nathan Smith (27th) ran together, all getting new PRs. Finishing out the top 5-point scorers was Sophomore Colby Grushon (33rd). Junior Aiden Bond (42nd) and Freshman Ezra Stevens (47th) closed out the 4th-place team finish. The boys and girls regional meet is next Saturday, October 25th at 10:00 am at Hobart Arena in Troy, along the Great Miami River.
