The DC Warrior golf team brought their A-game to the OHSAA Division 3 Southwest District Tournament at Pipestone, finishing a commendable 3rd place with a team score of 330. They were just four shots shy of 2nd-place National Trail and 11 shots behind the top team, Botkins. While only the top two teams advance to the state tournament, the Warriors showed grit and skill, wrapping up their 2025 season with pride.
Leading the charge, Braden Fleming delivered a stellar performance, carding a 79 to tie for 4th individually, just two shots short of qualifying for the state tournament. His round featured two birdies and 10 pars. Chase McCane was hot on his heels with an 80, including two birdies and nine pars, showcasing steady play. Reid Collins contributed an 84 with seven pars, while Brady Girdwood and Ethan Girdwood rounded out the effort with scores of 90 and 87, respectively, with Ethan notching three birdies for a highlight of the day.
Though the Warriors’ season ends here, their strong showing—highlighted by consistency and flashes of brilliance with eight team birdies—ends a successful year the entire team can be proud of.
Great job, Warriors!
