The DC Warrior golf team teed off with confidence and grit at Round 1 of the SWBL Conference Tournament at Miami Whitewater, posting a solid team total of 331 (+47) to secure 5th place in the 14 team field. With just eight strokes separating them from 2nd place overall and just 5 from the division lead. The Warriors are poised for a strong push in the final round this Saturday.
Leading the charge for DC was standout Braden Fleming, who fired an impressive 73 (+2), tying for the individual lead. Fleming’s steady performance included an eagle, a birdie, 11 pars, showcasing his skill and composure under pressure. His score has set the tone for the team’s momentum heading into the final round.
The Warriors showed depth with solid contributions across the board. Chase McCane and Reid Collins both carded 85 (+14), with Reid adding a birdie to his six pars, demonstrating resilience on a challenging course. Brady Girdwood contributed an 88 (+17), battling through with four pars and a determined effort.
While Bellbrook leads the field with a 297 (+13), DC’s performance keeps them firmly in contention only 5 strokes away from division leader Carlisle. With Fleming leading the way and the team’s focus sharpened, the Warriors are ready to attack the leaderboard in Round 2 this Saturday at Beechwood Golf Course.
